Overview: Several academics and industry practitioners, in conjunction with AIMA, proposed earlier this year, the setting up of an ad-hoc working group to guide research leading to establishing a set of guidelines for hedge fund strategy definitions. To establish the working group, in April 2003, AIMA issued an invitation to its members and other industry participants, to register their interest in being involved in this project to design and create a new standard for classifying hedge fund strategies. In May, AIMA sent a short survey questionnaire to those registered participants. This paper presents the results of this survey.
