Overview: From the executive summary: ‘Till a decade ago, plasma screens TVs, Internet kiosks, and coffee stations were not even viable options in bank branch design. But today, the aforesaid items are becoming as common as teller windows, money-counting machines, and automated teller machines. And, most local bank locations have joined in the trend. The emphasis on physical locations comes several years after the industry had taken a doom-and-gloom attitude towards the future of branches. Then, industry officials predicted online banking products would eliminate the need for local offices. But now, local bankers say the offices play an integral role in the continuum of services.’ The paper discusses this issue in detail.
