Overview: Global Crossing is the world's first independent provider of global long distance telecommunications facilities and services. The existing power system was insufficient to accommodate Global Crossing's requirement in terms of capacity and control and there was no available space within the building to house the required power systems equipment. Global chose ICW Power. The ICW Power Solution was to utilize Global's unique PowerPod design, to house a new dual 4MVA, High Integrity Power System. The PowerPod design, allowed ICW Power to work in parallel with the 'wet trades' on site, as most of the equipment was manufactured off-site at their factory.
