Overview: Crossroads Engineering and Surveying provided highway design services for the one and a half mile reconstruction of South Shore Boulevard. This busy two-lane rural roadway was upgraded to a four-lane divided urban arterial highway. The drainage design required correction of flooding issues that resulted from the existing roadway being built too low. Erdman provided surveying services including right-of-way sketches, field surveying for design and utility coordination, and soil boring location. Crossroads completed the design in just three phases to minimize traffic impacts on this heavily traveled roadway.
