Overview: Armstrong World Industries was founded in 1860 and is now five generations removed from the days of its two-man cork-cutting shop in Pittsburgh. Armstrong began an intensive search for a resource to help create the environment that would support the Path Project objectives. Herman Miller became that resource. Throughout its journey down the path to greater efficiency and flexibility, Armstrong found in Herman Miller both a consultative partner and a supplier willing to explore new options. As Armstrong worked with Herman Miller to develop new solutions, they were assured that, their efforts would continue to be supported and that this furniture will serve their need for a long time to come.
