Overview: The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation called upon Erdman Anthony to analyze and design the rehabilitation of the Prospect Point Observation Tower at Niagara Falls, which provides spectacular views of the Falls to over 8 million Park visitors each year. Erdman Anthony's design included major structural steel rehabilitation to provide room for four new high-speed elevators and support for a new glass curtain wall system. Erdman Anthony's team designed entire new mechanical/electrical systems including emergency power generator and new rest room and gift shop facilities in the Lower and Upper Gorge, as well as a Lower Gorge sanitary sewer pump station with 200 feet of vertical lift.
