Overview: C.G. Schmidt is a commercial building general contractor, serving clients primarily in southeastern Wisconsin. C.G. Schmidt retained Kahler Slater Architects of Milwaukee to design their new corporate offices. C.G. Schmidt focused on daylighting as an energy efficiency strategy because, in addition to saving energy, they also wanted to improve the health and productivity of their employees. The project's environmental enhancements included daylighting, energy efficiency, landscaping, building sitting, storm water filtration, indoor air quality and environmentally enhanced building material specifications.
