Overview: Although hundreds of schools nationwide use GeoExchange systems today, the new Choptank Elementary School in Cambridge recently became the first in Maryland. Three other factory-packaged water-to-water rooftop units supply the gymnasium, cafeteria and small conference rooms. The standard boiler room for a conventional system is replaced by a much smaller equipment room which houses the supply and return water headers, the system's circulation pump and the domestic hot water heating system. Heating and cooling for the 45,900 square foot Choptank School is supplied by 41 ceiling-mounted GeoExchange units located.
