Overview: When the Northwest Louisiana Juvenile Detention Authority met with architect Steve Davis of Archetype Design Group, Inc. to plan a new detention facility to serve a five-parish area, utility costs were foremost in the minds of the owners. Detention facilities, especially in the warm, humid southern region, are very intense energy users. Therefore, the decision was immediate to select this heating and air-conditioning system with a proven record of very low operating and maintenance costs.
