Overview: This document present some examples of IEA work with energy indicators and an overview of the methodology used for constructing the indicators. It also provides brief summary of work that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and IEA are undertaking on Indicator for Sustainable Energy Development (ISED). With the important role, energy plays in every country's environment performance and the sustainability of its development it is essential to have data and indicator for identifying and monitoring policy decision and for keeping track of progress towards environment and sustainable development goals.
