Overview: This paper introduces the International Energy Agency's (IEA) Fuel Cell Program. Fuel cells - electrochemical devices (like batteries) that draw on externally stored fuel - can provide a source of power for both stationary and mobile applications. They have high-energy conversion efficiency and they can function on a small or large scale, either as part of or separate from a power grid.
