Overview: This paper discusses the utilization of CO2. Fossil fuel-fired plants are responsible for roughly one-third of the world's total emissions of CO2. The quantities of CO2 emitted from power generation facilities in general, and by other major industrial activities, are considerable. Unless concerted international action is taken, emissions levels will continue to rise in the future. One important option for controlling these emissions is to capture the CO2 produced and store it in various ways, thus avoiding its release into the atmosphere.
