Overview: The GeoExchange system meets the needs identified by the Bixby YMCA's director, Dale Isgrigg: a heating and cooling system that could simultaneously serve the different needs of each of the facility's activity areas; an energy-efficient system to minimize costs; and a visually unobtrusive system that would allow the center's full-size heated lap pool to be showcased. The system uses two pumps to heat and cool water through 32,000 feet of sealed pipe buried underneath the parking lot, allowing individual heating and cooling of fourteen separate zones.
