Overview: The largest single fabrication project Smorgon Steel Reinforcing and Welded Mesh WA have undertaken, is progressing well and proving to be a practical value adding exercise in fabricated reinforcing for WA21, an alliance between Clough, the Water Corporation and Brown and Root. Smorgon schedulers saw the opportunity to fabricate the wall reinforcing for two 19m diameter tanks, which when completed will form the pump stations for the upgrade to the sewerage treatment works being constructed at Woodman Point, South of Perth. The solution which Mark Plummer and I proposed consisted of radiused mats fabricated 3m wide (no waste from a stock bar and transportable) by pour height + a lap length.
