Overview: This paper focuses on techniques on rig cleaning system. Pit cleaning is a mundane but essential part of drilling. Because of the ever-higher requirements of drilling and completion fluids, elimination of carry-over contamination is increasingly important. The value of pit cleaning can also be expressed in negative values: when drilling operations are stopped because a pit is not ready or a boat cannot be loaded, lost time can quickly ring up thousands of dollars of rig downtime. The choice of cleaning methods is not simply using the best cleaner.
