Overview: When the acoustic performance standards for the air handling equipment were set, we didn't think we could achieve it with cataloged equipment. Consulting engineer James Stewart describes one of the major acoustic challenges in the design for the recently-renovated Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma City. A major part of the challenge facing the engineer was the goal of creating an acoustically superior venue. As part of the design process, Trane transported two of the most critical units to the acoustic laboratories of the Air Moving and Controls Association (AMCA) in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
