Overview: This report presents information on statewide energy consumption, prices, expenditures, and sources for the period 1988- 2002. The 2002 data are preliminary estimates. New York, with 7% of the nationĘs population, is one of the most energy-efficient states in the nation on a per-capita basis, accounting for 4% of the nationĘs total primary energy consumption.
