Overview: The cash flow statement has three sections explained in this paper. Each of these sections reconcile the information on the income statement with the information on the balance sheet. To begin that reconciliation, the statement of cash flows begins with the net income number from the income statement. Net income is then increased or reduced with as it flows through the three sections of the statement of cash flows.
