Overview: Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in California leads the world in developing innovative, high quality, cost-efficient systems for space exploration. Most of JPL's 144 buildings contain very sensitive devices that demand high power quality. Power disturbances can have severe consequences, such as instrument damage, assembly disruptions, or lost research data. JPL chose Power Measurement to install a continuously operating, company-wide power monitoring system to capture unexpected disturbances, record waveforms, log historical data, track load profiles, and share this information via Ethernet to computer desktops around their existing network.
