Overview: This report summarizes work conducted by Arthur D. Little on behalf of the Department of Energy's Office of Industrial Technologies (OIT). The OIT supports various programs that aim to significantly improve the resource efficiency and productivity of energy- and waste-intensive industries in the United States. Micropower is defined as microturbines, fuel cells, and reciprocating engines under 1 MW. Fuel cell hybrid systems were analyzed for unit sizes of 250kW to 20 MW.
