Overview: Hongkong Telecom Tower is the headquarters building of Hongkong Telecom, the territory's largest telecommunications provider. In 1993, Oliver Chan, property operations consultant with Hongkong Telecom, began researching control systems options for the newly constructed building. The challenge to Chan and to Johnson Controls engineers was to connect a variety of control systems being used in this project to the Telecom Tower central control room. According to Chan, the Metasys system helped Telecom Tower become 20 % more energy efficient than neighboring buildings of comparable size.
