Overview: This report is on the poultry industry in Minnesota. The Minnesota poultry industry is an important component of the state's and the nation's agricultural systems. In fact, Minnesota is the nation's second largest turkey producer, exceeded only by North Carolina. In egg production, Minnesota is the nation's seventh largest producer. While the poultry industry is a small part of the state's agriculture, it appears to be relatively productive. Highly productive industries tend to result in higher returns to labor.
