Overview: This report summarizes the major successes and challenges of the School Bus Program and provides a glimpse at the future of alternative fuels both for school buses and at large. The program's primary objective was to conduct a demonstration of new school buses that met all applicable federal motor vehicle safety standards, produced fewer adverse air emissions, and operated with greater energy efficiency than the vehicles being replaced.
