Overview: This paper gives the Electricity generation update of the year 2001-02. In February, the Governor established a goal of adding 5,000 MW of additional generation during the 2001 summer peaking period and an additional 5,000 MW during the 2002 summer peaking period. Based on projects the Energy Commission and Governor's Green Team are tracking, it now expect projects representing about 3,000 MW to be on-line during July 2001.
