Overview: This case study describes about Kvaerner Energy. To maintain its position in this highly competitive field, the company has brought a considerable proportion of its design activities in-house to improve its products and services still further. Gas Turbines utilize large volumes of air and are highly vulnerable to contaminants in the air. If the air entering a gas turbine is not filtered it can cause several problems including erosion, corrosion and cooling passage plugging effects which can be very expensive to correct. Munters Humicool has successfully installed high efficiency mist eliminators in several gas turbine power stations where mist and fog had previously caused problems.
