Overview: Following a depressed start to the year within the global power sector, merger and acquisition activity is making a strong comeback. Globally there has been a rise in the number of power deals, and the total value of deals also rose; this increase in activity is in stark contrast to previous quarters characterized by falling activity. Europe remains dominant within the global markets. However, the US market is staging a slow comeback following a period of flatness. This report provides analysis on power deals for the second quarter of the year 2002.
