Overview: The growth in the use of electronic bill payments is not keeping pace with the growth in remote banking. The central constraint on this growth is low levels of consumer confidence as a result of the underlying issue of inaccurate bill payment data supplied by telephone and internet banking providers. Given that consumer loyalty to online brands is comparatively much weaker than in the high street, this white paper concludes that the future growth of remote banking will be constrained unless providers address the issue of bill payment data validation.
