Overview: The goal of working capital management is to ensure that a company is able to continue its operations and at the same time to generate sufficient cash to satisfy cash requirements of maturing short term debt and future operational expenses. Most would consider working capital to be the relationship between four elements which also determine the cash conversion cycle: trade payable; trade receivable inventories, and cash and cash equivalents.
