Overview: Team building is a term which is common to almost any organization, be it commercial or otherwise. Right from the sports arena to the office complex, team building is considered to be one of the most crucial and important steps in achieving success. However, unless the organization in question is clear about what type of a team is required and how to keep it working in harmony, it is unlikely to make any long term progress. Team building has been interpreted in several ways, but in essence it is said to be a combination of the 'Selection', 'Development' and 'Motivation' of the group of people chosen to get the job at hand done in a successful manner.
